Based
on the MTX, a regulator developed in accordance with the United States Navy
Experimental Dive Unit for the extreme cold water test, the MTX-R is innovative,
rugged and reliable.
MILITARY-GRADE
PERFORMANCE
The
MTX-R is extremely reliable. Several areas of the regulator have been reinvented
and improved to reduce risk of free flow in extreme cold water environments. The
addition of an innovative endcap and the unique over-balanced diaphragm design
have allowed the diver to go deeper in colder temperatures.It is only of the
only regulators on the consumer market that can perform in near-freezing water
at depths of over 190 feet. The first stage is specifically designed to prevent
ice build up, effectively prevent free flow. It meets all aspects of the NEDU
(Navy Experimental Dive Unit) military requirements. The MTX-R is dependable and
always ready to go.
DRY
SEALED DIAPHRAGM
The
MTX-R’s diaphragm is compact environmentally dry sealed, which completely
eliminates the maintenance issues associated with silicone, oil or grease
filling. The innovative over-molded first-stage endcap from Apeks is
incorporated into the MTX-R’s design specifically to prevent ice build-up that
can cause first stage free flow in extreme circumstances. The forged first stage
body with heat exchanging ribs provides maximum thermal performance. Also, the
diaphragm clamp is ribbed to improve heat exchange in cold water
conditions.
DIVER
CHANGEABLE EXHAUST SYSTEM (DCE)
The
MTX-R, along with other top Apeks regulators, includes an innovative diver
changeable exhaust system (DCE). This all-new system gives the diver the ability
to change from a small exhaust tee to a large exhaust
tee. Both
exhaust tees are included with the regulator. The larger exhaust tee is perfect
for photography as it provides minimal bubble interference. The smaller exhaust
tee is more compact and is therefore more comfortable. The regulator can be
converted from a right-hand configuration to a left-hand configuration by a
technician. It’s suitable for cold-water use (below 10°C). It’s compatible with
EAN 40 when new. It has an over-balanced first stage for superior performance at
greater depths. An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring
chamber of the first stage, which prevents ice buildup and
contamination.

Single Kit Xstream Deep MK3 Regulator Set
The
regulator of choice for demanding divers. The regulator of choice for demanding
divers using air, nitrox, trimix or oxygen. Outstanding performance and
certified to 200 meters / 656 feet.
The
objective; design the most reliable HP valve in the world. Every engineer
knows the benefits of using balls in valve arrangements, since they will
never be misplaced and will always find their perfect
position. Unfortunately, varying upstream pressures will either push the
ball too fiercely into the seat or leave it unsecurely loose, giving
unbalanced characteristics.
By
inventing the floating seat (which automatically repositions the ball)
the increased upstream pressure is balanced equally with increased
and counter-acting compression forces from the pressure adjustment
spring, maintaining the benefits of having a perfect ball as the sealing
element. The Xstream regulator is also self-balancing, which gives the same
high performance irrespective of the pressure in the cylinder. When the
seat is moved upwards by the high pressure, the design causes the upper
pressure spring to compress and thus exactly self-balance the powers of
pressure.
Xstream
also has a built in anti freeze protection in its construction. TDA (Thermo
Dynamic Antifreeze) ensures that the through-flowing water keeps the ice
away, entirely without fluids or extra diaphragms.
The
Xstream Deep: rated for use down to 200m and for use with mixtures
containing helium (He) and a maximum O2 content of 40%. Colour coded Black
on both stages to avoid confusion with other gas mixes. All Xstream hoses
are oxygen clean and delivered in a sealed bag and they are available in
the following lengths: 70, 90, 150, 215 cm (28, 36, 60, 85
inches).

The package, using the Poseidon Xstream Black first stages along with the
Xstream Black second stage regulators includes:
All Poseidon regulators include Poseidon's limited lifetime warranty as long as the regulator is serviced by an authorized Poseidon dealer at least once every 24 months.
The Xstream first stage uses a unique synthetic ruby sphere that virtually eliminates high pressure seat wear that is common in knife edge design seating systems. The Xstream first stage also uses a rolling diaphragm design that eliminates any restriction in movement, which creates a smooth transfer of gas from the first stage to the second stage. This rolling diaphragm design further creates a insulating barrier so there is no need for an additional environmental kit. The Xstream has five low pressure standard 3/8-inch UNF ports and two high pressure standard 7/16-inch UNF ports. The Xstream Black version is Nitrox Ready, incorporating oxygen compatible o-rings and lubricant. The Xstream is CE certified to EN250 European cold water standards.
The low-profile compact Xstream second stage uses pilot-operated upstream demand valve technology that also seals the seat without the use of conventional knife edge design seating systems. This servo-assist feature allows for very low inhalation effort and also eliminates any need for a venturi switch or adjustment knob. The second stage is also ambidextrous, allowing both left and right hose routing and breathes equally well in nearly any swimming position while the side mounted exhaust directs the bubbles out of the field of vision.
